Set in the rural area of Berwind in McDowell County, West Virginia, the Berwind House of Praise is home to approximately 40 members. Formed in the fall of 2004, the House of Praise is located in the old Berwind United Methodist building, which is over 100 years old. We are comprised of people from various denominational backgrounds. Seeing this, it was decided that this church would be a nondenominational place of worship and praise ... a House of Praise.

As mentioned on the frequently asked questions page, we believe that Jesus was born a virgin birth and is the Son of God. Jesus was convicted without cause, died on the cross for our sins, rose again on the third day, and now sits at the Father's right hand to make intercessions for us. We also believe that the Holy Ghost was sent to be our Comforter that is received when Christ is made our personal Savior.

We know that prayer still changes things and that God is still working, healing, and saving people. Nothing is too big or too small to be brought before God.

As the Bible has promised, we believe that Jesus is coming to 'rapture' His church before the seven year tribulation period. Therefore, we believe that the church will not be present when the Antichrist takes his reign during the seven year tribulation. After seven years, we stand firm that Jesus will set the millennial kingdom up on Earth and Satan will be bound. Afterward, we will reign with Christ for eternity.

Our church has an open door policy: everyone is welcome to attend anytime our doors are open. Regular services include:

• Sunday School - 10 AM (Morning Worship to follow)
• Sunday Night Service - 7:00 PM
• Wednesday Night Bible Study & Youth Meeting - 7:00 PM
